Navigating the changing charitable landscape

Join us for the first of our workshops in a series focused on the "for purpose" sector in South Canterbury. This practical and insightful session designed to help South Canterbury’s charitable organisations stay fit for purpose in a changing regulatory landscape.

In this two-hour workshop, legal expert and changemaker Steven Moe will guide participants through a comprehensive Charities Healthcheck—a tool developed with input from over 100 sector leaders—to help your organisation assess its governance, compliance, and impact readiness. Steven Moe is a lawyer with a nationwide focus and interest in charities and for purpose entities who has created a series of “Charities Healthchecks” which will form the basis for this interactive session on the topics of Governance, Assets, Policies and People.

The law changed last year and now requires Charities to ensure both their policies and rules are “fit for purpose”.  In this session we will consider some of the key areas which Charities need to ensure are up to speed to help keep both those involved in running them as well as those in governance safe and compliant.

Bring along your questions and prepare for some thought provoking discussions on considering the areas that might need a refresh. Whether you're a trustee, leader, or volunteer, this session will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to navigate recent legislative changes, strengthen your structure, and ensure your mission is future-proof.
