Help Shape the Next Chapter of the Geraldine Sculpture Trail
We're inviting the community, visitors and supporters of the arts to help raise $300k to bring three new scultpures to the trail.
Hannah Kidd's - Bronze Dog
Bronze on a concrete and steel plinth
The inspiration came from Hannah, her wish for the piece to be fully interactive, which fits into the natural surroundings to delight and inspire. The plinth will be engineered to enable folk to sit beside him, while also being low enough to encourage even the smallest of folk to touch and crawl all over him.
Lars Thomson's 'Korikori' or The Ballerina
Cordon Steel
Lars is an emerging artist from Christchurch who the Geraldine Sculpture Trail is supporting. Korikori came to life, following the inspiration from his daughter, who is a ballerina, and he wanted to capture that sense of movement, strength, and elegance in steel.
Andrew Drummond's 'Underground Seed'
Stainless Steel and Gold
Andrew is a New Zealand icon in the art/sculpture world, within NZ and abroad. His contribution to the art world spans over 40 years. Andrew has sculptures placed in botanic gardens, private homes i.e. Sir Miles Warren in Governors Bay, and public spaces. His works are engineered to perfection, often with kinetic elements & touches of gold.
We are seeking to raise $300,000 to fund the creation and installation of three new sculptures, with the project scheduled for completion by 31 December 2026.
Every dollar raised will contribute directly to the commissioning, fabrication, transportation and installation of these artworks, helping to ensure the Geraldine Sculpture Trail continues to grow as a lasting cultural asset for our region.
This project is being driven by a passionate group of volunteers and community advocates committed to growing the Geraldine Sculpture Trail.
Together, they are working to secure the funding needed to bring these exciting new artworks to life.
All donations received through this fundraising campaign are pass-through funds only and will be applied solely to the commissioning and installation of the three new sculptures.
This means every contribution directly supports the project and helps bring these artworks to the Geraldine Sculpture Trail.
Whether you contribute $50, $500 or $5,000, your support will help leave a lasting artistic legacy for Geraldine.
