Presbyterian Support South Canterbury (PSSC) is a trusted registered charity. They are the largest social service and aged care provider in our region, supporting individuals and whanau of all ages.
PSSC’s services include Family Works (incorporating Refugee Settlement Services), Enliven homes offering rest home, hospital, and dementia care, Day Service, retirement villages as well as their @Home - personalised care for all ages service.
PSSC have walked alongside the South Canterbury community through every chapter of life - from the very first moments before birth to the final stages, and every precious moment in between. For over 100 years in South Canterbury - PSSC are ‘People helping People’

The Presbyterian Support South Canterbury Fund was established following a generous bequest to the Aoraki Foundation in 2026 from Mollie Thomson.
Mollie was a committed board member, a passionate supporter, and a Life Member of Presbyterian Support South Canterbury.
Giving back was a defining part of her life. From a long career in hospital administration to 25 years serving on the PSSC Board, she played an important role in strengthening support for older people and communities across the region.
Born on 9 November 1934 in Christchurch, Mollie was the only child of Lillian and Jim Thomson, and grew up on the family farm in Methven. She moved to Timaru in 1972 to take up the role of Medical Records Officer with the South Canterbury Health Board, retiring after many years of service.
An active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Mollie joined the PSSA (now PSSC) General Committee in 1983. She remained closely involved until stepping down from the Board in 2013, when she was made a Life Member. Mollie spent her final years in a PSSC Enliven home and passed away on 4 September 2025.

The Presbyterian Support South Canterbury Fund does not do individual grants to the public. This is a community fund that provides all the income directly to Presbyterian Support South Canterbury.
